The group particularly would like kids from La Crosse to join. KAMOKIDS and their mentors participate year round in a variety of activites. KAMO’s next open to the public meeting is at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 7th in Room 307 at the Onalaska High School.
The Boys and Girls Club is going to bring several kids to our upcoming events. They are going to bring some kids into the Genoa Fish Hatchery for the Kids Fishing Day fishing event on Saturday, May 12th.
KAMO is having its own fishing day on Lake Onalaska on the morning of Saturday, June 2nd. That event is open to the public and wil start at 7:45. Poles, bait, and lunch will be provided.
There is no cost to families to have their kids in KAMO. KAMOKIDS are invited to numerous activities in individual or group format throughout the year. Contact 608-781-7341 for details.

Registration begins at 8:45 and the fishing goes from 9-lunch. Lunch is provided. You can bring your own tackle or borrow it.

The pond is stocked with Rainbow Trout.

This is open to the public and all free.

We will get into planning some events throughout the next few months. A hike, a fishing barge trip, a canoe trip, participation in a festival, and two youth hunts are all on tap for this year. KAMO is looking for raffle prizes for fund raising – we might consider putting together some small tackle boxes for a small raffle and could use a shotgun or rifle for a larger one. What KAMO really needs is some kids to start working with. Many Brook Trout were taken. Bass were not in a biting mood. Sleigh rides were given nearby. Over 250 people attended this year’s event, excluding the friends and USFWS staff.
