Jackson County Holiday Visit

Returned from a refreshing outing with family members to a remote flowage in Jackson County. We tried our hand at ice fishing, but the fish were apparently not in the mood. Enjoyed time around the campfire and talking to a few other folks who took the long drive to this location for some of the famed lunkers that inhabit the place.

We stayed in the bell tent complete with woodstove which allowed us to sleep through two nights down to about 15 degrees.

The first night there was a great deal of coyote activity both near and far. Pictured is a victim of their hunting success.

On night two a cousin drove in to spend the night around the fire catching up to speed on things in the family and sharing the contents of a roasting pan which had been on the stove top all day.
We went to a nearby “village” to shoot the breeze with some friends for awhile before heading out on the third day.
